Facebook App – incognito

In class we have talked quite a bit about and a reoccurring issue or complaint is how annoying the invitations many apps send to everyone. My idea is a little farfetched but if there was a way to create almost a new Facebook account within the app for everyone who uses the app. The app would act a buffer between your games and your online social life. The app would also automatically add other people using the app to the new accounts friend list so you would have people to play with (since playing with and getting help from other people is a key part of every Facebook game). So the new account would have lots of friends to interact with, they would be random but there is no risk because none of your real information is on the “new” account. In class we talked about how some apps within Facebook are just windows to different parts of the internet, my app would bring in the other accounts game and display it on the screen for the actual user to interact with as if they were using it on their own account. I understand something like this would be near impossible, if not completely, but a guy can dream, right?

 

 

Mouse on Mars: WretchUp, an Instrument for iPhone

On Indiegogo.com I found a project for a musical instrument built for the iPhone. “Mouse on Mars: Wretchup, an Instrument for iPhone” seems like a really great program that could be a lot of fun. Its a custom musical instrument designed by Mouse on Mars. It is a unique handheld effect and instrument.

 

What really brought me in to this project was how hands on the app was. It truly was like playing a real instrument. You have to stay on top of what noises you’re playing, constantly changing them on the go and really playing and creating music.

Launch Preparation

In preparation of the launch, I have lots of merchandise designs ready. They can showcased on the website for viewing and eventual purchase by the public. Also we (My partner and I) have ideas for contests and other social media events, the prises would be things like free tanks and shirts to the winner(s).

The Bad

My patient zero gives the shirts to the football team. They wear them out one night and get into a huge fight at a bar. By wearing the shirts, the brand gets a bad reputation on campus because all the football players who cause trouble are wearing them. The brand because defined by the actions of those football players.

The Ugly

My patient zero Matt Pellerin gives the shirts to the football team, no one likes the shirt. No one wears it and it ends up being a waste of money and the brand doesn’t grow at all. No one on campus knows about it and the whole endeavor is a waste of time and money.

How to Generate a Viral Music Video in 5 steps

There were five major points the article made; which outlined the important things to remember when trying to make Viral Music video. These key points were:

  1. Make it as accessible as possible; Post it where the a majority of people will see it, for example Youtube basically controls the market for internet videos so post it there.
  2. Get Influencer Endorsement; While it is possible for a video to go viral on its own, you should look into getting it into public view through specific bloggers and news sites that may be interested in the context of the video.
  3. Have a strong Creative Idea; 
  4. Offer Your Track as an Accompaniment to Someone Else’s Viral Video;
    Partnering videos means your video will be seen/mentioned/posted more often than if it was just one video by itself.

This article’s techniques aren’t valuable to my meme because I am building a clothing brand and while a video would be a fun project to do I don’t think it would be very useful for getting my brand to the public. Possibly one day I could create a commercial to showcase my products but as of now that doesn’t seem like a good use of my time.
